EI-LVD A321 Livingston

A.321-231 c/n 792 - LSZH 07 Dec 2009
EI-LVD is one of three A.321 aircraft in service with Italian carrier Livingston. Built in 1998 for Aero Lloyd as D-ALAH, it was acquired by Livingston in February 2004, intially as I-LIVD, and re-registered as EI-LVD in May 2007. As such it was seen on short finals to runway 14, completing charter service LVG5507 from Milan-Malpensa and paying its first visit to Zurich.

OE-FCB C510 Globe Air

Cessna 510 c/n 510-0044 - LSZH 07 Dec 2009
This Citation Mustang was built in 2007 for a Mexican customer, but was quickly returned to the USA and sold on to Austria in October 2008. Becoming OE-FCB, it is now being operated by Globe Air, and was seen on short finals to runway 14 on flight GAC411 from Venice-Tessera.

CS-TNR A320 TAP Portugal

A.320-214 c/n 3883 - LSZH 07 Dec 2009
CS-TNR is one of several new-built A.320 aircraft delivered to TAP Portugal during 2009. Wearing the revised, much larger main titles, it was seen arriving on runway 14 on schedulded service TAP920 from Lisbon. CS-TNR was built in 2009 and delivered in late May that year.

EK-20014 CRJ2 Armavia

When delivered in late August 2009, this Regional Jet became Armavia's second to enter service, and the first to wear the full new livery of the Armenian flag carrier. Registered as EK-20014, it was seen on short finals to runway 14, completing scheduled service RNV117 from Yerevan-Zvartnots. The aircraft was originally built in 1998 for Lufthansa CityLine as D-ACJI.

G-IGWT CRJ2 Ocean Sky Aviation

This Challenger 850 was built in 2007, and after lengthy outfitting, was delivered to the UK in mid-August 2009. Registered as G-IGWT, it is owned by Ocean Sky Aircraft Management Ltd., and operated by Ocesn Sky Aviation. G-IGWT was captured upon its first visit to Zurich, arriving on runway 14 after a flight from Moscow-Vnukovo.

UR-PSA B738 Ukraine International Airlines

B.737-8HX c/n 29658/2970 - LSZH 07 Dec 2009
B.737-800 UR-PSA was captured approaching runway 14 on scheduled service AUI471 from Kiev-Borispol. It is on lease from Aviation Capital Group and was accepted on delivery in late July 2009. UR-PSA is the Ukrainian flag carrier's first 737-800, and also the first New Generation 737 aircraft.

G-LCYE E170 BA CityFlyer

When delivered in September 2009, G-LCYE became the second of an order for new-built Embraer jets to replace BA CityFlyer's existing Avro fleet. All aircraft are operated in full British Airways livery, but carry small 'operated by BA CityFlyer' insignias on the forward fuselage. G-LCYE was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing scheduled service CFE8763 from London-City airport, and replacing the scheduled RJ.100.

G-EZFC A319 EasyJet Airlines

G-EZFC is one of several new-built A.319 aircraft delivered to British low-cost carrier EasyJet Airlines during 2009. Joining the fleet in mid-February 2009, it was seen approaching runway 14 on scheduled service EZY2043 from London-Luton. Unlike older aircraft, G-EZFC does not carry any EasyJet advertising legends on the fuselage.

LX-INS C56X Luxaviation

Cessna 560XLS c/n 560-5727 - LSZH 07 Dec 2009
Originally built in 2007 for an Australian customer, this Citation Excel XLS was eventually sold to Luxembourg in September 2008. Becoming LX-INS and being owned by LuxCitation SA, it is being operated by Luxaviation, and was captured on short finals to runway 14 on flight LXA07B from Westerland-Sylt.

9G-EBK B703 Imperial Cargo Airlines

B.707-321C c/n 19372/655 - LSZH 22 Aug 1993
First flying in 1967 as 'Clipper Eagle' for Pan Am, this convertible 707 later also flew with several other carriers before ending up in Africa. In June 1993 it was acquired by Accra, Ghana-based Imperial Air Cargo, and became 9G-EBK. Sporting only a tail logo but no titles, 9G-EBK was captured on short finals to runway 14 on a Kuwait Airways cargo service from Kuwait-International. In late 1994 the aircraft was sold on, and after flying with several more carriers, became 9G-JET with Johnsons Air in late 2001. The aircraft was last heard of being in storage at Sharjah in mid-2005.

CF-BCS N262 BC Airlines

Nord N.262A-44 c/n 23 - CYXX 08 Aug 1970
Built in 1966 for Lake Central Airlines, this Nord 262 was sold to Canada in early 1969, and became CF-BCS with Vancouver-based BC Airlines in March 1969. As such it was captured sitting idle at Abbotsford, BC, in August 1970, shortly before the carrier was absorbed by Pacific Western Airlines. The aircraft was sold back to the US in 1972, and served with various carriers before ending up in Sao Tomé et Principe as S9-NAX. Its current whereabouts are unknown, but it was reportedly broken up after a longer period of storage.

A7-AAM GLEX Qatar Amiri Flight

Built in 2003, this Global Express was delivered to Qatar in June 2004, and became A7-AAM with the Amiri Flight, which operates non-commercial VIP flights for the Ruling Familiy. Painted in the full livery of national carrier Qatar Airways, A7-AAM was captured on short finals on flight AMIRY5 from Farnborough.

G-MKSS H25B Markoss Aviation

HS.125-700B c/n 257175 - LSZH 20 Jun 2005
Built in 1982 for a Mocambique customer, this Hawker 700B later also flew under US, Cayman and Bermudan marks before returning to the UK as G-MKSS on late 2000. Operated by Markoss Aviation, it was seen upon a rare visit, arriving on runway 14 after a flight from its homebase, Biggin Hill. After Markoss' demise, the aircraft was sold to Russia and is now flying as RA-02804.

D-CUNO B350 Euroflug Frenzel

Built in 2000, this Beech 350 Super King Air was delivered to Germany in March 2001, and became D-CUNO with Augsburg-based dealer Beechcraft Vertrieb & Service. In 2004 the aircraft was acquired by Freiburg-based Euroflug Frenzel, and as such was seen approaching runway 14 after a flight from Meinerzhagen. D-CUNO was sadly written-off near Freiburg airfield on 13 Jan 2006, when it hit trees during a night approach and crashed, killing the crew of two.

F-GOMA B462 Axis Airways

Next to a fleet of 737s, Axis Airways also operated two BAe.146-200 aircraft on charter services. Included was F-GOMA, which was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing seasonal charter service AXY949 from Pescara. The aircraft was built in 1993, and converted to the Quick Change variant before delivery to Air Jet in mid-1994. Axis Airways leased F-GOMA between May 2003 and January 2006, when it was transferred to TNT Airways as OO-TAY.

OY-RAA H25B Air Alsie

Built in 1993 for Volkswagen, this Hawker 800B was eventually sold to Denmark as OY-RAA in 1996, but later also flew in the USA and Germany before returning to Denmark as OY-RAA in April 2003. Operated by Air Alsie, it was captured arriving on runway 14 on flight MMD9038 from its homebase, Sønderborg.

OE-GNW C56X Jetalliance

This Citation Excel was built in 2003 as N51143, and delivered in June that year to Vienna-based Jetalliance Flugbetriebs AG as OE-GNW. Carrying titles on the engine nacelles, it was seen on short finals to runway 14 after flight JAG401 from Nice-Côte d'Azur.

D-AIQR A320 Germanwings

Pending delivery of new-built A.319 aircraft, German low-cost carrier Germanwings leased a series of A.320 aircraft. D-AIQR came off the Lufthansa fleet, and was leased between October 2002 and August 2005. Painted in full Germanwings livery, it was seen arriving on runway 14 on scheduled service GWI764 from Cologne. The aircraft was originally built for Lufthansa in 1992, and is still with the German flag carrier.

D-CSWF SW4 European Air Express

SA.227DC c/n DC-896B - LSZH 20 Jun 2005
Originally built in 1996, this Metroliner went into storage before it was eventually delivered to Südwestflug as D-CSWF in early 2001. In September 2004 the aircraft was leased to European Air Express, and as such was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing scheduled service EAL381 from Münster-Osnabrück and still sporting basic Südwestflug colours. After EAE's demise, the aircraft was acquired by Regional Air Express, still as D-CSWF.

NZ7003 C130 Royal New Zealand Air Force

C-130H c/n 4054 - LSZB 20 Jun 2005
Delivered to the Royal New Zealand Air Force in April 1965 and subsequently serialled NZ7003, this 40-years old veteran was captured during a are visit to Bern-Belp airport, taxiing to final parking position after landing on runway 32 on a Royal Air Force service from RAF Lyneham.

EC-IXY A321 LTE International Airways

A.321-211 c/n 1006 - LSZH 19 Jun 2005
This A.321 was built as G-OOAI for Air 2000 in 1999, and in May 2004 was acquired by Volar Airlines, which changed its name back to LTE International Airways in early 2005. Still registered as EC-IXY, it was seen on short finals to runway 14 on seasonal charter service LTE420 from Palma. EC-IXY was returned to the lessor in late 2005, and is now F-HBAF with Aigle Azur.

S5-AAA A320 Adria Airways

S5-AAA was one of three A.320 operated by Slovenian flag carrier Adria Airways, and was originally built in 1989 as YU-AOA, and later also flew as SL-AAA before taking up its current marks in April 1993. S5-AAA was seen arriving on runway 14 on scheduled service ADR364 from Ljubljana-Brnik, also carrying large 'Slovenija' inscriptions to promote the country as a holiday destination.

RA-85204 T154 Pulkovo Aviation Enterprise

Built for CAAC in 1991, this Tu.154M was eventually sold back to Russia, and became RA-85204 with Pulkovo Aviation Enterprise in late 2001. It was seen on finals to runway 34, completing seasonal scheduled service PLK293 from St. Petersburg-Pulkovo. The carrier was merged with the Russia State Air Transport Co. in October 2006, and is now Rossiya Airlines.

HS-TGJ B744 Thai Airways International

B.747-4D7 c/n 24459/777 - LSZH 19 Jun 2005
Built and delivered to Thai International in 1990, B.747-400 HS-TGJ was one of the first aircraft to received the new purple and gold livery in early 2005. As such, it was captured arriving on runway 34 on daily scheduled service THA970 from Bangkok. The flight was changed to the A.340-600 shortly afterwards.

9M-MRQ B772 Malaysian Airlines

B.777-2H6ER c/n 28422/498 - LSZH 19 Jun 2005
Between 1997 and 2004, Malaysian Airlines took delivery of a total of 17 new-built 777-200ER aircraft. 9M-MRQ was the last example, being delivered in December 2004 and captured on short finals to runway 34 on scheduled service MAS10 from Kuala Lumpur.

OY-RCB B462 Atlantic Airways

This 1987-model BAe.146-200 was built for Presidential Airways, but not taken up and eventually delivered to Air UK. In 1992 it was sold and between 1993 and 2004 flew with Malmö Aviation. In June 2004 it was acquired by the flag carrier of the Faroe Islands, Atlantic Airways, and became OY-RCB. As such it was captured arriving on runway 14 on seasonal charter service FLI7273 from Edinburgh.

SE-DPB B733 Falcon Air

B.737-33A(QC) c/n 25402/2153 - LSZH 18 Jun 2005
737-300 SE-DPB was one of three Quick Change variants operated by Swedish carrier Falcon Air. Used on mail flights for the Swedish post during the night, the aircraft was available for passenger charters during the day. In summer 2005 SE-DPB was temporarily operated by Falcon Air on behalf of Swedish charter carrier FlyMe, and was subsequently seen on short finals to runway 14 on charter service FLY4137 from Leipzig, also sporting large FlyMe inscriptions. The aircraft was originally built in 1991 for America West, but not taken up, converted to QC variant and instead delivered to Falcon Aviation in February 1992. Successor Falcon Air ceased operations in 2006, and SE-DPB was subsequently returned to the lessors and taken on lease by Titan Airways as G-POWC in April 2007.

TF-FIU B752 Icelandair

B.757-256 c/n 26243/603 - LSZH 18 Jun 2005
Originally built for Iberia in 1994, this 757-200 was eventually sold and leased to Icelandair in April 2004. Becoming TF-FIU, it was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing seasonal charter service ICE566 from Keflavik.

D-CDNX LJ60 Daimler-Chrysler Aviation

Learjet 60 c/n 60-231 - LSZH 17 Jun 2005
D-CDNX was one of several Learjet 60 aircraft operated by Stuttgart-based Daimler-Chrysler Aviation, and was captured on short finals to runway 14 on flight DCS602 from Munich. D-CDNX was built in 2001 and delivered in October that year, and sold to Greece in October 2006, where it is now SX-BNR with Aegean Airlines.

F-GEOU BE9L Alsair

This 1981-model Beech King Air was eventually exported to France as F-GEOU, and was seen while in service with Colmar-based Alsair. Wearing full colours, F-GEOU was on finals to runway 14, completing flight LSR2115 from Larzac, France. F-GEOU is still flying in France, now with a private operator.

SX-SMH C25A Interjet

This CitationJet II was built in 2005 and delivered to Athens-based Interjet in early June 2005. Registered as SX-SMH, it was being oprated for a private owner, and was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing a short check flight after attention by Jet Aviation. SX-SMH was sold to Austria in October 2007, and is now OE-FVB with Vienna Jet.

OK-FUN B733 Fischer Air

OK-FUN was one of two 737-300s operated by Czech charter carrier Fischer Air. Painted in a distinctive blue and white livery, it was captured upon a rare visit, arriving on runway 14 on flight FFR9951 from Prague-Ruzyne. OK-FUN was built in 1997 and delivered to Fischer in April that year. The airline ceased operations in November 2005, and OK-FUN went into storage.

I-CMUT FA20 Aermarche

This 1979-model Falcon 20F spent all its life in Italy. Delivered as I-CMUT in May 1979, it initially flew with Soc. Industriale Comau before being acquired by Ancona-based Aermarche in 1989. As such it was seen arriving on runway 14 upon a rare visit, completing a flight from Turin-Caselle. In mid-2006 I-CMUT was sold to the Ukraine and is now UR-KKA with Aerostar Airlines.

On this afternoon, a four ship formation of Heer BO.105P1s arrived as GAM261 from Chambéry-Aix-les-Bains, France, for a one-hour fuel stop en-route to Heeresflugplatz Roth in Bavaria. The formation was captured during departure, with 8797 still resting on the ground while sisterships 8694, 8750 and 8795 were lifting-off a little while later for the onward flight to Germany, still using call-sign GAM261.

HB-ZFR EC20 Swift Copters

This Colibri was registered as HB-ZFR to Finges SA in April 2004, and is being operated by Geneva-based Swift Copters. Carrying company titles and logo, it was captured running-up at the Heliport West, ready to depart back to its homebase Geneva-Cointrin.

VP-CSF GLF4 MSF Aviation

Gulfstream IV SP c/n 1390 - LSZH 15 Jun 2005
This Gulfstream IV SP was built in 1999 for a US customer, but in February 2004 was registered in the Caymans as VP-CSF. Operated by MSF Aviation on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed Said Fakhry, it was seen on short finals to runway 14, completing a flight from London-Luton.

HB-JIC MD90 Hello

MD-90-30 c/n 53576/2195 - LSZH 15 Jun 2005
When delivered in December 2004, MD-90 HB-JIC was the third of the type to join the Hello fleet, and on this day was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing charter service FHE6305 from Antalya. The aircraft was already carrying Aviajet inscriptions on the lower forward fuselage, for a four month lease to the Irish carrier that started a day later. HB-JIC was originally built as SU-BMQ for AMC Airlines in 1997.

N92UP H25B Sun Air Jets

Built in 1997 for Enron Corp. as N5735, this Hawker 800XP was sold after Enron's collapse, and since March 2004 is now owned by Allyson Aviation LLC and operated by Sun Air Jets LLC. As such it was seen arriving on runway 14 after a flight from Paris-Le Bourget.

N754US A320 GECAS

A.320-211 c/n 283 - LSZH 25 Oct 2009
This early A.320 is currently owned by Wells Fargo Bank Northwest, as Trustee for General Electric Capital Aviation Services, and was registered as N754US on 06 Oct 2009, after coming off a Freebird Airlines lease. It was seen parked idle at the maintenance area, still wearing basic Freebird livery, and reportedly ready for delivery to the USA. The aircraft was built in 1991 for Canadian Airlines International and later also flew with Air Canada before joining Freebird Airlines as TC-FBY in May 2005.

Z3-AAJ B733 Airlift Service

Skopje, Macedonia-based Airlift Service sub-leased this winglet-equipped 737-300 from Hamburg International in July 2009, and put it onto the Macedonian register as Z3-AAJ. It is being operated for tour operator Skywings International and carries the latter's full livery. Z3-AAJ was captured on short finals to runway 34, completing new scheduled service LFM211 from Skopje. The aircraft was originally built in 1987 for Norway Airlines and has seen a wealth of other operators before being acquired by Hamburg International as D-AHIG in May 2006.

PH-BGF B737 KLM

B.737-7K2 c/n 30365/2714 - LSZH 25 Oct 2009
PH-BGF is one of several new-built B.737-700 aircraft recently joining the Dutch flag carrier. Delivered in December 2008 and fitted with Aviation Partners blended winglets, it was captured on short finals to runway 34 on scheduled service KLM1953 from Amsterdam-Schiphol, a flight formerly operated with KLM CityHopper Fokker equipment. PH-BGF is named 'Grote Zilverreiger / Great White Egret'.

D-ABDM A320 Air Berlin

When delivered in January 2007, D-ABDM was the 13th new-built A.320 to join Air Berlin. D-ABDM was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing charter service BER4517 from Santorini, still sporting the old, brown livery of the German carrier. On 16 Oct 2009 D-ABDM was transferred to Air Berlin Lease and re-registered as HB-IOU. A day later it was delivered to Zurich, to become the third A.320 to enter service with Belair Airlines, still in old Air Berlin colours.

TS-INO A320 Nouvelair Tunisie

This A.320 was built in early 2008, and delivered to Tunisia in April that year. Becoming TS-INO with charter operator Nouvelair Tunisie, it was captured lining up on runway 28 on charter service LBT2931 to Djerba-Zarzis.

YR-BGE B733 Tarom

B.737-38J c/n 27395/2671 - LSZH 04 Oct 2009
Five new-built 737-300s were delivered to Tarom between 1993 and 1994. YR-BGE was the fifth and final aircraft, and was delivered in November 1994. Still wearing an older version of Tarom's various colour schemes, it was captured lining up on runway 28, ready for departure on scheduled service ROT352 to Bucharest-Otopeni.

OE-LNM B736 Austrian Airlines

B.737-6Z9 c/n 30138/546 - LSZH 04 Oct 2009
Originally delivered to Lauda Air as OE-LNM in May 2000, this 737-600 was inherited by Austrian Airlines upon the merger of the two airlines, and in early 2008 eventually received full Austrian Airlines livery. As such it was captured on taxiway Alpha, en-route for runway 28 on scheduled service AUA562 to Vienna-Schwechat.

SP-LGH E145 LOT Polish Airlines

Some ten EMB.145s are in service with the Polish flag carrier, including SP-LGH, which was built and delivered in 2000. SP-LGH was seen taxiing on Alpha, ready to depart from runway 28 on scheduled service LOT412 to Warsaw-Okecie. SP-LGH also carries 80 years insignias, to remind of LOT's formation back in 1929.

G-EUPP A319 British Airways

G-EUPP is one of over 30 A.319 aircraft in service with the British flag carrier. Built and delivered in 2000, it was captured lining up on runway 28 for scheduled service BAW711 to London-Heathrow, and also showing extensive signs of wear on its tail.

OY-KFE CRJ9 SAS Scandinavian Airlines

When delivered in late April 2008, CRJ.900 OY-KFE became the fifth example to enter service with the Scandinavian flag carrier. The type is more and more replacing SAS' MD-80s on European routes, and OY-KFE was subsequently captured on Alpha en-route for runway 28, ready to depart on scheduled service SAS602 to Copenhagen-Kastrup.

EC-KPB C56X Jetnova

This 2007-model Citation Excel XLS was delivered to Spain in February 2008, and became EC-KPB with Murcia-based Jetnova de Aviacion Ejecutiva. As such it was captured parked at the General Aviation Centre, after arriving from Moscow-Vnukovo on 14 Sep 2009, almost three weeks earlier.

HB-DBF R90R Syteq GmbH

Built in 1993 as D-EEHY, this R.90-230RG was delivered to Switzerland in May that year, and sold to a private owner, who leased it as HB-DBF to Syteq GmbH. Based at Zurich airport and regularly flying, HB-DBF was captured on short finals to runway 28 on completion a VFR flight.

HB-IAX F2TH Rabbit Air

This Falcon 2000 is being operated by Zurich-based Rabbit Air, the flight division of ABB Asea Brown Boveri, and was captured lining up on runway 28 for departure as RBB174 to Northolt. Registered as HB-IAX, the aircraft was built and delivered in 1996, and in 2006 received a new coat of paint.

MM62026 FA50 Aeronautica Militare Italiana

Falcon 50 MM62026 is one of a pair of the type operated by Grupo 93 of the Aeronautica Militare Italiana out of Rome-Ciampino, and was built and delivered to the Italian Air Force in 1989. MM62026 was captured on taxiway Alpha for a runway 28 departure on flight I2026 to Biggin Hill, after arriving as I2026 from Naples an hour ago.

S5-AAH CRJ2 Adria Airways

Unlike some of its sisterships, CRL.200 S5-AAH is still wearing standard Adria Airways livery, and as such was captured on taxiway Alpha, en-route to runway 28 for departure as ADR365 to Ljubljana-Brnik. S5-AAH is one of seven of the type operated by the Slovenian flag carrier, and was built in 1993 for Lauda Air and acquired by Adria in February 2003.

HA-LOE B736 Malév

This 737-800 was built in 2000 and delivered to Itochu Airlease in May that year, for immediate lease to Spanish carrier Air Europa. Registered EC-HKQ and being fitted with blended winglets since 2007, it was seen lining-up on runway 28 on charter service AEA664 to Palma.

HB-IOS A320 Belair Airlines

This A.320 was the first Air Berlin aircraft to be transferred to Swiss subsidiary Belair Airlines. Arriving as HB-IOS in April 2009, it is still wearing the old, brown Air Berlin livery, and very small Belair logos on port side only. HB-IOS was subsequently captured on Alpha for a runway 28 departure on Air Berlin positioning flight BER661P to nearby Basel. HB-IOS was originally built for Air Berlin as D-ABDK in 2006.

PH-KZW F70 KLM CityHopper

During 2008, KLM-subsidiary KLM CityHopper have acquired French carrier Régional's fleet of Fokker 70 aircraft, to allow some of the older F100s to be retired. Included in the deal was F-GLIX, which was acquired in October 2008 as PH-KZW. As such it was captured on taxiing on Alpha for departure on runway 28 on KLM scheduled service KLM1954 to Amsterdam-Schiphol.

D-ACNA CRJ9 Eurowings

This new-built CRJ.900 first flew as C-GZQA on 15 Apr 2009, and was delivered to Germany as D-ACNA on 24 Apr 2009. It is being operated by Lufthansa subsididary Eurowings under the Lufthansa Regional banner, but interestingly only carries Eurowings inscriptions and the Lufthansa Regional tail colours. D-ACNA was captured on taxiway Alpha, ready for a runway 28 departure on Lufthansa scheduled service DLH3761 to Düsseldorf.

HB-IYD SB20 Darwin Airline

Built for Crossair as HB-IYD in 1998, and later also flying for Swiss International Air Lines, this Saab 2000 was eventually sold to Russia in May 2006, becoming VP-BPP with Polet Flight. In September 2009 the aircraft was acquired by Darwin Airline, again as HB-IYD, and put into service still in Polet Flight livery. As such it was captured upon its first visit to Zurich, taxiing on Alpha for a runway 28 departure on Swiss service SWR2902 to Lugano-Agno.

HB-LRV PAY2 Lions Air

This 1978-model Piper Cheyenne II was built for a US customer, but in 1992 was sold to Switzerland and became HB-LRV. Since then it has flown for many different operators. In 2005 it was acquired by Stansstad-based Air Connect AG, and most recently it was leased to Zurich-based Lions Air. As such it was seen parked at Sector 4 of the GAC, awaiting its next flight.

N33XE GLF5 Air Rutter International

Built in 1997, this early Gulfstream V flew with various US customers before being acquired by New York-based Aerolinx LLC in December 2007. Becoming N33XE, the aircraft is now being operated by Air Rutter International, and was subsequently captured lining up on runway 28 for departure on a non-stop flight to Los Angeles.

EC-KOL C56X Aerotaxi Los Valles

Built for a Saudi Arabian customer in 2000 and initially flying under Bermudan marks, this Citation Excel was later sold to the UK, and in February 2008 was further sold to Spain. Becoming EC-KOL with Aerotaxi Los Valles, it was captured parked at Sector 3 of the General Aviation Centre, shortly before departing to Madrid-Torrejon as VAD671 later in the morning.

HB-VNW C560 Your Jet

Acquired from the fleet of defunct Swiss Eagle in 2009, this Citation V is now with newly-formed Zurich-based Your Jet AG, and subsequently carries a new colour scheme and the company's titles and logo on the engine cowlings. Still registered as HB-VNW, it was seen parked at the General Aviation Centre, awaiting its next flight. The aircraft was built in 1998 for a US customer, and later also flew in the UK before being acquired by Swiss Eagle as HB-VNW in February 2005.

Originally built for America West Airlines in 1995 and later also flying in Asia, this A.320-200 is one of two recently acquired by Turkish carrier Onur Air. Registered as TC-OBD and carrying the airline's latest livery, it was captured upon its first visit to Zurich, arriving on runway 14 on charter service OHY348 from Antalya and Geneva.

EI-RJA RJ85 Cityjet

Between 2007 and 2008, Irish carrier Cityjet exchanged their fleet of BAe.146s against 23 newer model RJ85s, which became surplus with Mesaba Airlines. Most flights operated are for Air France, and a fair number of Cityjet's aircraft are wearing full Air France livery. EI-RJA, however, is one of several carrying Cityjet's own livery, and was captured on short finals to runway 14 on Air France scheduled service AFR5104 from Paris-Charles de Gaulle. The aircraft was built for Mesaba in 1998, and acquired by Cityjet in October 2007.

Named 'A. Hachaturian', after Aram Hachaturian, a Soviet-Armenian composer, this Aeroflot A.319 was newly delivered from the manufacturer in mid-June 2009. Registered under Bermudan marks VQ-BCO, it was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing Aeroflot's daily scheduled service AFL265 from Moscow-Sheremetyevo.

A6-ECF B77W Emirates

After taking delivery of additional B.777-300ER aircraft in 2008 and planning a fleet of eventually more than 50 of the type, Emirates have upgraded in February 2009 their midday flight from the A.340-500 to the B.777-300ER. A6-ECF, which was built and delivered in 2008, was subsequently captured on short finals to runway 14 on flight UAE87 from Dubai-International.

TC-IZM A319 Izmir Airlines

TC-IZM is one of three former Independence Air A.319s now in service with Izmir Airlines. Recently, all adopted Pegasus Airlines insignias on fuselage and engine cowlings, as illustrated by TC-IZM when seen on short finals to runway 14 on Pegasus Airlines scheduled service PGT395 from Istanbul-Sabiha Gökcen. The aircraft was built in 2005, and acquired by Izair in April 2006.

OY-KFB CRJ9 SAS Scandinavian Airlines

YL-BBH is now one of some ten 737-500 aircraft in service with the Latvian flag carrier, and was seen approaching runway 14 on scheduled service BTI641 from Riga-Spilve. Originally built for Aer Lingus in 1990, the 737 was acquired by Air Baltic in February 2005.

Bulit in 2009 and delivered only in early June 2009, this 737-900 is winglet equipped and in service with Turkish charter carrier Sky Airlines. Registered as TC-SKN and carrying the airline's livery in purple, it was captured on short finals to runway 14 on charter service SHY3192 from Antalya and Frankfurt, thereby also paying its first visit to Zurich.

Started only in June 2009, Delta Air Lines have decided to down-grade their New York-JFK to Zurich service to summer seasonal only. Operated by B.757-200 aircraft, N703TW had the honour to fly the last DAL206 of the year from John F. Kennedy into Zurich when seen on short finals to runway 14. The aircraft was built in 1996 for TWA, and later also flew with American Airlines before being acquired by Delta in July 2007.

D-IATT PRM1 Vibro Air

Since last being seen, Vibro Air's Premier 1 D-IATT has received a new livery, and new position for the registration marks, and an extra fake window. D-IATT was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing flight VIB730 from Madrid-Torrejon. The aircraft was built in 2002 and delivered to Vibro Air Flugservice in December that year.

YR-BGG B737 Tarom

YR-BGG is one of four 737-700s delivered to the Romanian flag carrier between 2001 and 2003, and in late 2008, was chosen to wear a 55 years anniversary retro livery. As such it was captured lining up on runway 28 for departure on scheduled service ROT352 to Bucharest-Otopeni. YR-BGG was built in 2001 and delivered in April that year.

D-AISR A321 Lufthansa

Lufthansa's aircraft are always clean and shiny, but this A.321 is extraordinarily shiny. The reason is that it was delivered new from the manufacturer only in late July 2009, not even receiving a name yet. Registered as D-AISR, it was seen on taxiway Alpha, ready for departure on scheduled service DLH3723 to Frankfurt.

Istanbul-based Onur Air have acquired a pair of second-hand A.320 aircraft during 2009, with TC-OBE joining the Turkish carrier in early July 2009. This aircraft was originally built for America West Airlines in 1995, and later also flew with Go Air of India. TC-OBE was captured lining-up on runway 28 for departure on charter service OHY362 to Antalya.

A total of seven A.319 aircraft were delivered to Austrian Airlines between 2004 and 2006. The fourth out of the order for seven, OE-LDD, was built in 2005 and delivered in March that year. It was seen taxiing on Alpha for a runway 28 departure on scheduled service AUA562 to Vienna-Schwechat. OE-LDD is named 'Moscow', after the Russian capital city.

After the sale of sistership S5-AAC, S5-AAB is the sole remaining A.320 in the fleet of the Slowenian flag carrier. S5-AAB was built and delivered in 1990, and initially flew as YU-AOD and later SL-AAB before receiving its current marks in March 1993.

F-HAVN B752 Elysair

Originally built for Condor as D-ABNF, this 757-200 later became F-HAVN and was one of two examples operated by French carrier Elysair in full L'Avion livery on flights to the USA. When Elysair and the L'Avion brand were taken over by British Airways and merged with their Open Skies division, Elysair's aircraft received British Airways livery, but kept the purple colour in the Open Skies titles. F-HAVN was captured arriving on ferry flight AVI080P from Paris-Orly to pick up the Chicago Blackhawks NHL team, and two hours later taxiing on Alpha for a runway 28 departure as AVI800 to Helsinki, the venue of the next Blackhawks game.

HB-VWE was captured doing what it can do best: being parked idle at Sector 3 of the General Aviation Centre, awaiting one of its rare sorties.

PH-KZK F70 KLM CityHopper

Some 25 Fokker 70 are in service with KLM-subsidiary KLM CityHopper. They are used on KLM flights to Europe, such as PH-KZK, which was captured taxiing on Alpha for a runway 28 departure to Amsterdam-Schiphol as KLM1954. PH-KZK was built in 1997 against an Avianova order, but was not taken up and instead delivered to KLM CityHopper in May 1997. It has recently received CityHopper's new livery which resembles that of parent KLM.

This CitationJet 2 was built in 2004 for a Danish customer, but in late 2005 was already sold off to Spain. It is now EC-JMS with Murcia-based Jetnova de Aviacion Ejecutiva, and was captured on short finals to runway 14 on flight JNV111 from Paris-Le Bourget, also displaying company titles on the forward fuselage.

N604CL CL60 Leading Edge Operations Co.

This Challenger 604 was built in 2003, and delivered to the USA in March 2004, becoming N604CL with Middletown, PA-based food producer Hershey Co. The aircraft is being operated by Leading Edge Operations Co. on behalf of Hershey, and was captured shortly after sunrise, approaching runway 14 after a night non-stop from Toronto-Pearson airport.

This 1996-model Beech 1900D flew with several French regional airlines before being acquired by the French Border Police in March 2009, still as F-GNLE. Now operated titleless and with a military roundel in fin, it was seen upon its first visit to Zurich, completing flight POF13 from Paris-Le Bourget during a pre-sunrise arrival on runway 14.

Now registered as TC-TCE, it was captured on a pre-sunrise approach to runway 34, completing ferry flight TRK811F from Antalya, thereby marking the airline's and aircraft's first visits to Zurich.

A total of ten ATR.72-200 aircraft are now in service with Farnair Switzerland. While nine are being operated as freighters, the latest addition, HB-AFS, is the sole passenger aircraft, and was captured approaching runway 14 on charter service FAT219 from Rotterdam. The aircraft was built in 1990 for Foshing Airlines, and later flew with a number of other airlines in Taiwan, Greece and Spain before being acquired by Farnair in early August 2009.

RA-86561 is one of seven salon IL-62M aircraft operated by the Rossiya Special Flight Detachment on VIP and transport missions on behalf of the Russian government. Built as CCCP-86561 in 1992, the aircraft served as RA-86561 with the Russia State Air Transport Co., until it was merged with Pulkovo Airlines in October 2006 to form Rossiya Airlines. RA-86561 was subsequently assigned to the Special Flight Detachment, and was captured on short finals to runway 14 on VIP flight RSD011 from Moscow-Vnukovo.

The aircraft was built in 1978 and flew with several other German operators before being acquired by CCF in late 1995.

A.330-200 I-EEZL is one of three of the type operated by Milan-Malpensa-based Eurofly. All three are under contract with SR Technics, and I-EEZL was subsequently captured approaching runway 16 on ferry flight EEZ8006 from Rome-Fiumicino, coming in for its A04-check. I-EEZL was built in 2006 and delivered in December that year.

This Gulfstream IV was built in 2000 for a Swiss customer, but was soon after sold back to the US. In May 2003 it was acquired by New York-based 57 Aviation Services LLC, intially as N331LV, but in February 2004 became N326JD. It is being operated for a private owner, and was captured on short finals to runway 14 after a non-stop flight from White Plains-Westchester County airport.

A7-HHH A345 Qatar Amiri Flight

This A.340-500 was built in 2003, and delivered to the Qatar Amiri Flight in September that year. Becoming A7-HHH, it is the flagship of the Amiri fleet, and hitherto used call-sign and flight number AMIRY1. Recently the use of QAF flight numbers was introduced, and A7-HHH was subsequently captured approaching runway 14 on flight QAF001/'AMIRY001' from Nice-Côte d'Azur, still displaying the full old livery of state carrier Qatar Airways.

HA-LQB DH8D Malév

When delivered in mid-June 2009, HA-LQB became the third former SAS DHC-8-400 to enter service with the Hungarian flag carrier. HA-LQB was captured on short finals to runway 14 on scheduled service MAH564 from Budapest-Ferihegy, thereby replacing the scheduled Fokker 70. The aircraft was originally built in 2001 as OY-KCE for SAS, but was withdrawn from use and stored in late 2007 after a series of landing accidents with the type, later attributed to false maintenance.

This AN-124 was built in 1991 for the Soviet Air Force, and operated as CCCP-82028 in full Aeroflot civil colours. During 1993 it was transferred to the Russian Air Force, and later converted to series -100. Still wearing basic Aeroflot livery and civil registration RA-82028, the aircraft is now being operated by the 224th Flight Unit of the Russian Air Force, and was captured arriving on runway 14 on cargo charter service TTF9071 from Moscow-Vnukovo.

Built in 1980 for Northwest Orient, this 727-200 was as 4K-AZ9 sold to Turan Air of Azerbaijan in September 2005, and transferred to SW Business Aviation as 4K-8888 in October 2007. Now painted in SW's silver and gold livery, and fitted with hushkits and winglets, it was seen paying its first visit to Zurich when captured on short finals to runway 14 on flight ESW8888 from Baku-Aliyev airport.

Latvian flag carrier Air Baltic have complemented their fleet of 737-500 with a fair number of 737-300 aircraft. All are now equipped with blended winglets, including YL-BBX, which was seen approaching runway 14 on scheduled service BTI641 from Riga-Spilve. The aircraft was originally built in 1999 for Deutsche BA, and joined Air Baltic on lease in April 2008.

TC-AAN is one of several new-built 737-800 recently delivered to Turkish carrier Pegasus Airlines. TC-AAN was put into service in late August 2009, and is wearing the carrier's revised livery introduced earlier in 2009. It was seen on finals to runway 14, completing scheduled service PGT395 from Istanbul-Sabiha Gökcen.

Built in 1998, this BBJ has seen many different corporate owners since, flying under US and Bermudan marks before being acquired by World Travel BBJ Ltd. in June 2004, initially as N88WZ. In October 2004 it was re-registered as N88WR, and leased to Wynn Resorts Ltd., but was being operatedby by Las Vegas Jets LLC on behalf of Seaflight Aviation Ltd. N88WR was captured taxiing out on Echo for a runway 28 departure to Valencia, after arriving from Newark the previous night.

8T-CC C130 Oesterreichische Luftstreitkräfte

C-130K c/n 4257 - LSMD 14 Jun 2005
Built for the Royal Air Force as a Hercules C.1, this C-130K was sold to Austria in August 2003, and is now one of three in service with the Oesterreichische Luftstreitkräfte. Serialled as 8T-CC, it was captured on a soaking wet final to runway 29, for an intermediate stop on a VIP service from Linz to Lvov, Ukraine.

I-JAMY was built in 1997 for a German customer and acquired by Sirio in February 2004.

Built for Hapag Lloyd in 1989, this 737-400 later also flew with Blue Panorama Airlines and White Eagle Aviation before being acquired by MNG Airlines in December 2002. Becoming TC-MNI, it was captured on short finals to runway 14 on charter service MNB411 from Antalya, also carrying large 'World of Wonders' insignias. After the closure of MNG's pax division, the aircraft was acquired by Futura Airlines, and after their demise, joined Hola Airlines, now as EC-JSS.

PH-ECC PC12 Elas Professional Services Network

This early 1995-model Pilatus PC-12 was built for a US customer, but in mid-2000 was exported to the Netherlands and became PH-ECC. It is being operated by Budel-based Elas Professional Services Network BV, and as such was captured approaching runway 14 after a flight from its homebase. A few weeks later PH-ECC was converted to PC-12/45 standard, and is still with Elas.

LZ-BOI B735 Bulgaria Air

Built in 1991 for Lufthansa as D-ABJF, this 737-500 was leased to Bulgaria Air in June 2003. Becoming LZ-BOI and wearing a hybrid Lufthansa/Bulgaria Air livery, it was seen on short finals to runway 14 on scheduled service LZB491 from Sofia. In early December 2006 the aircraft was returned to Lufthansa, and put back into service as D-ABJF.

Originally built for Lufthansa in 1992 but quickly sold in 1997, this 737-400 saw service with several charter operators before being acquired by Antalya-based Sky Airlines in April 2001. Becoming TC-SKB, it was seen displaying the airline's livery in blue while on short finals to runway 14 on Freebird Airlines charter service FHY411 from Antalya.

This 2003-model Raytheon Premier 1 was delivered to the Houston Jet Services as G-FRYL in August 2004, and was being operated by Farnborough-based Hawk Air on lease. As such it was seen approaching runway 14 on a flight from Paris-Orly. G-FRYL was bought by Hawk Air in May 2007, and is still in service with them, now with an additional fake cabin window to make its appearance more sleek.

A4O-OMN B744 Oman Royal Flight

Ordered by German flag carrier Lufthansa, this Boeing 747-430 was eventually sold to the Oman Royal Flight and delivered to them in December 2001, initially as D-ARFO. After lengthy outfitting, the aircraft became A4O-OMN in April 2004, and is based at Muscat-Seeb International airport. A4O-OMN is the flag ship of the Oman Royal Flight, and normally uses call-sign/flight number 'OMAN1', as on this occasion when A4O-OMN was captured on short finals to runway 14 as 'OMAN1' from Muscat-Seeb.

D-AHOI B463 Eurowings

This 1990-model BAe.146-300 was produced against no order, and remained unsold with the manufacturer for several short leases to European carriers. In 1997 it was acquired by Eurowings, and during 2004 was painted all white for unknown reasons. Now registered as D-AHOI, it was seen arriving on runway 14 on scheduled Lufthansa service DLH3740 from Munich.

TC-FLO MD83 Fly Air

TC-FLO was Fly Air's first MD-83 aircraft, coming off the fleet of Swiss International Air Lines, and captured on short finals to runway 14 upon its first visit to Zurich, completing flight FLM325 from Istanbul-Atatürk. Built for Swissair in 1991 and later also flying with Balair CTA, the aircraft was eventually acquired by Crossair, and inherited by Swiss International in 2002. In April 2003 it was withdrawn from use and stored at Zurich, before being acquired by Fly Air in May 2005.

N71WF MD1F Transmile Air Services

Built for LTU in 1992 as a passenger aircraft, this MD-11 later also flew with Swissair as HB-IWS, before it ended up on the Mojave desert after the Swiss carrier's collapse. In early 2005 it was converted to cargo, and ferried to Zurich where it was readied for service with Transmile Air Services. Now registered as N71WF, it was captured rocketing out of runway 16 on delivery flight to Kuala Lumpur, where it later became 9M-TGR.

A6-ERR A343 Emirates

A6-ERR is one of eight former Singapore Airlines A.343-300 in the fleet of Emirates, and on this day was captured climbing out of runway 16 on scheduled service UAE88 to Dubai-International, also displaying large 'Dubai Summer Surprises' insignias on the rear fuselage. A6-ERR was built as 9V-SJK in 1997, and acquired by Emirates in April 2004.

HB-VIS C550 Swiss Eagle

Built in 1982 for a US customer, this Citation II was exported to Switzerland as HB-VIS in May 1988. Initially flying with Air City and later Cat Aviation, it was acquired by Berne-based Swiss Eagle in July 2002, still as HB-VIS. As such it was captured upon one of its regular visits, approaching runway 14 on flight EAB613 from its homebase, Berne-Belp. HB-VIS was sold to the UK in January 2007, and is now G-JBIS with Xclusive Jet Charter.

PH-MEX C650 Jet Management Europe

Built for Martinair Holland as PH-MEX in 1992, this Citation III was later sold to Excellent Air and, in January 2005, to Jet Management Europe BV. Still registered as PH-MEX, it was captured on short finals to runway 14 after a flight from Eindhoven. In January 2006 the aircraft was sold again, and is now with Solid Air.

F-HALS B190 Alsair

This Beech 1900D was built in 1999, and delivered to France in February 2000. It became F-HALS with Colmar-based Alsair, and as such was captured upon one of its regular visits, arriving on runway 14 on charter service LSR037 from its homebase, Colmar-Houssen. F-HALS was sbustantially damaged in a landing accident at St. Moritz-Samedan on 25 Jan 2007, but was later rebuilt and is now flying as HB-AEM with Zimex Aviation.

OK-CEC A321 CSA Czech Airlines

This A.321 was acquired by CSA Czech Airlines as OK-CEC off the Air Canada fleet in late May 2005, and a few days later was captured arriving on runway 14 on positioning flight CSA9200 from Prague-Ruzyne, coming in for maintenance and repairs by SR Technics. The aircraft was built in 1997 for Air France and was later leased to Air Canada in mid-2002.

D-BCRO AT42 Avanti Air

Originally built for RFG in 1988, this ATR.42-300 later flew with Eurowings before being acquired by Avanti Air in July 2004. Still registered as D-BCRO, it was captured on short finals to runway 14 on positioning flight EEX799 from Siegerland, Avanti Air's base.

This Gulfstream V was built in 1997 as N513GA, and was sold to Switzerland as HB-IVL in January 1998. It is owned by Zug-based Interjet AG, and is being managed and operated for them by Jet Aviation Business Jets. HB-IVL was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing a flight from Klagenfurt.

RA-82044 is one of some ten AN.124 outsize freighters in service with Ulyanovsk-based Volga-Dnepr Airlines. It was built in 1991 and delivered in February 1992, and was captured on short finals to runway 16 after non-stop cargo charter VDA4152 from Montreal-Dorval.

HS-TME MD11 Thai Airways International

When delivered in July 1991, MD-11 HS-TME became the second of eventually four of the type to enter service with Thai Airways International. HS-TME was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing Thai's daily scheduled service THA970 from Bangkok-Don Muang. In June 2006 the aircraft was sold to UPS, and after cargo conversion is now in service as a parcel freighter.

Built in 1999 for a German customer as D-CIII, this early Citation Excel was sold to Austria in July 2004, and became OE-GTI with Salzburg-based Air Executive. As such it was seen arriving on runway 14 on flight JMS103 from Vitebsk, Belarus. Soon after OE-GTI was sold and is now with Vienna-based MAP Executive Flightservice.

Built in 1964 for Aeroflot, this AN-12B later flew with Bulgarian state carrier Balkan as LZ-BAF before being acquired by Bright Aviation Services in late 2003. Registered as LZ-BRP and in dire need of a wash, it was captured on short finals to runway 14 on positioning flight BRW500 from Catania.

Ilmavoimat F/A-18C HN-446 was captured turning off runway 11, after returning from a training mission in connection with Exercise Elite 2005, during which four Finnish Air Force F/A-18Cs were based at Dübendorf. The Ilmavoimat received 55 single seater F/A-18C aircraft.

During Exercise Elite 2005, four F/A-18C of the Finnish Air Force were based at Dübendorf air base. Included was HN-403, which is one of some 55 of the type delivered to the Ilmavoimat. It was seen turning off runway 11 after returning from a successful training sortie in connection with Exercise Elite.

When delivered in March 1999, F/A-18C J-5024 became the 20th out of 26 of the type to join the Swiss Air Force, albeit its serial would indicate it to be number 24. J-5024 was captured turning right after take off from runway 11 at the start of a training mission during Exercise Elite 2005.

Next to 26 single-seater F/A-18C aircraft, the Swiss Air Force also took delivery of 8 two-seater F/A-18D aircraft between 1997 and 1998. When delivered in June 1997, J-5234 was the fourth aircraft to reach the Air Force. It was captured turning right after take-off from runway 11 on a training mission in connection with Excercise Elite 2005.

A total of five B.737-300 were delivered to Tarom during 1993 and 1994. YR-BGC was the third aircraft to reach the Romanian flag carrier, and was accepted in November 1994. YR-BGC was seen on finals to runway 14 on charter service ROT3351 from Bucharest-Otopeni, displaying one of Tarom's various colour schemes.

HS-TGW is one of 18 B.747-400 in service with the Thai flag carrier, and in mid-2003 was chosen to wear the livery of Star Alliance, of which Thai International were a founding member. This Beech 1900D was built in 1999 and became D-CSAG in April that year. Owned by AL Aviation Leasing GmbH, it was operating for various German operators, until it was acquired by Berlin-based Private Wings Flugcharter in 2003, still as D-CSAG. Sporting only small company titles on port side, it was seen on short finals to runway 14 on charter service PWF600 from Ingolstadt-Manching.

Built for Aeroflot in 1993, this Tu.154M was operated by Samara Airlines between 1999 and November 2003, when it was acquired by Pulkovo Aviation Enterprise as R-85739. It was seen on short finals to runway 14, completing seasonal scheduled service PLK293 from St. Petersburg-Pulkovo.

HB-IBX GLF4 TAG Aviation

This 1992-model Gulfstream IV was built for a Bermudan customer as VP-BDC, but in 1997 was registered to Jet Leasing Establishment of Vaduz, Liechtenstein, and became HB-IBX. The aircraft was being operated by Zurich-based Jetclub for a private owner, but operations were transferred to Geneva-based TAG Aviation in 2005. HB-IBX was subsequently seen on short finals to runway 14 after the short hop from Geneva airport. In 2006 the aircraft was sold to the US as N510SR.

EI-COQ RJ70 Transwede Airways

This RJ.70 was built in 1994 for Air Malta, and later flew with Azzurra Air as EI-COQ. In May 2005 it was acquired by Transwede Airways, and as such was seen upon its first visit to Zurich, approaching runway 14 on charter service TWE4022 from Vienna-Schwechat. The aircraft was later leased SAS Braathens and SAS Norge as SE-DJP.

This 1981-model Gulfstream III was built for a US customer, and later flew with several other US owners before being acquired by Blue Skies Aircraft Holdings in November 2004, now as N624PP and fitted with hush-kits. N624PP was being operated by Aviation Bridge, and as such was capture on short finals to runway 14 after a flight from Tel Aviv-Ben Gurion airport. In late 2007 the aircraft was sold FM Holdings Group, and is now being operated as N410UJ by Universal Jet Aviation of Boca Raton, FL.

D-CREW D328 Private Wings

Built for Gandalf Airlines in 1999, this Do.328 was eventually acquired by Berlin-based Private Wings Flugcharter in April 2004, and became D-CREW. It is now being operated together with another Do.328 Prop, two Do.328JET and a pair of smaller Beech aircraft. D-CREW was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing charter service PWF507 from Ingolstadt-Manching.

This 1992-model and former United Air Lines B.737-500 was acquired by Bulgaria Air in June 2005, and became LZ-BOQ. After a short lease to Air Italy in mid-2009, LZ-BOQ is now operated all white and titleless, and is presumably soon to be returned to the lessors. LZ-BOQ was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing scheduled service LZB491 from Sofia.

A total of eight EMB.145 regional jet aircraft were delivered to Portugalia Airlines between 1997 and 2000. The carrier is now a subsidiary of the Portuguese flag carrier, and EMB.145 CS-TPJ was subsequently captured on finals to runway 14, completing TAP Portugal charter service TAP2910 from Porto. CS-TPJ was built and delivered to Portugalia in 1997.

N995GG GLF4 Worldwide Jet Charter

This early Gulfstream IV was built in 1988 for a Liechtenstein customer, and flew for them under Bermudan marks VR-BKT/VP-BKT until late 2004, when the aircraft was sold in the USA. In May 2007 it was acquired by Rayfield Aviation, still as N740JA, and in November that year it took up its current marks N995GG. Now operated for Rayfield by Worldwide Jet Charter LLC, it was seen on short finals to runway 14 on completion of a non-stop from Chicago-Midway.

YR-BGF B737 Tarom

When delivered in March 2001, B.737-700 YR-BGF became the first of eventually four examples to join the Romanian flag carrier Tarom. The type is now used on Tarom's new Bucharest to Zurich scheduled service, and YR-BGF was subsequently captured approaching runway 14 on flight ROT351 from Bucharest-Otopeni.

Polish flag carrier LOT was founded in 1929 and is currently celebrating 80 years of operations. For this most of the fleet has been decorated with special 80 years insignias, as seen on EMB.170 SP-LDB, which was captured on short finals to runway 14 on scheduled service LOT411 from Warsaw-Okecie. SP-LDB is one of ten of the type operated, and was built and delivered in 2004.

CS-DKF G550 NTA NetJets

Gulfstream G.550 c/n 5099 - LSZH 16 Aug 2009
CS-DKF is one of several G.550 aircraft now in service with NTA NetJets Transportes Aereos on the NetJets Europe fractional ownership scheme. CS-DKF was built in 2005 and delivered in June 2006, and was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing flight NJE093N non-stop from St. Lucia-Hewanorra International airport.

D-AGEN B737 Germania

B.737-75B c/n 28100/16 - LSZH 16 Aug 2009
Albeit painted in the latest Air Berlin livery and captured completing Air Berlin scheduled service BER8118 from Düsseldorf, 737-700 D-AGEN is actually owned by Germania and operated by them for Air Berlin. Small Germania titles are carried on the forward fuselage. D-AGEN was built in 1998 and in between also flew for Hapag Lloyd Express and TUIfly before starting operations for Air Berlin in March 2008.

N110JJ G150 TAM Aviation

Gulfstream G.150 c/n 270 - LSZH 16 Aug 2009
Built as 4X-CVL in 2008, this Gulfstream G.150 was intended for a German customer as D-CKDP, but was instead delivered to Baku, Azerbaijan, in mid-June 2009. Registered as N110JJ to TAM Aviation Inc., it is now being operated by them for an Azerbaijani customer, and was captured upon its first visit to Zurich, arriving on runway 14 after a flight from Nice-Côte d'Azur.

N383WA MD1F World Airways

MD-11(F) c/n 48412/454 - LSZH 16 Aug 2009
Originally built in 1990 for Air Europe but not taken up, this MD-11 later flew with Delta Air Lines and VASP before being converted to cargo in late 2000. After conversion it was in service with Gemini Air Cargo, and after that carrier folded its wings in 2008, was acquired by World Airways in November 2008. Now registered as N383WA and still carrying the basic Gemini Air Cargo livery, it was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing ferry flight WOA9027 from Ostend, arriving for its A4-check with SR Technics.

EI-EDP A320 Aer Lingus

A.320-214 c/n 3781 - LSZH 15 Aug 2009
EI-EDP is one of almost 30 A.320 aircraft now in service with the Irish flag carrier. It was built in 2009, and delivered to Aer Lingus in late March 2009. Ei-EDP was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing scheduled service EIN344 from Dublin. It is named 'Ailbhe', after an ancient missionary in Irleand, and lacks the web inscriptions common to the older fleet members of Aer Lingus.

TS-IOP B736 Tunis Air

B.737-6H3 c/n 29500/543 - LSZH 15 Aug 2009
TS-IOP is one of 7 B.737-600s in service with Tunis Air. It was built in 2000 and delivered in May that year, named 'El Jem' after the ancient Roman city of El Jem in Madhia Governorate, Tunisia. TS-IOP was seen arriving on runway 14 on charter service TAR8434 from Monastir, also displaying its revised tail livery received in early 2009.

OE-LSB DH8C Intersky

OE-LSB is one of four Dash 8-300s operated by Intersky. In early summer it was decorated with special insignias, now promoting its homebase Friedrichshafen as a T-City for Deutsche Telekom. OE-LSB was captured on short finals to runway 14 on regular charter service ISK283 from Elba-Marina di Campo.

HB-AEU J328 Swiss Jet

Originally built in 2001 for Italian carrier Air Vallee, but not taken up, this Dornier 328 Jet was eventually delivered to Pacelli Jet in 2004. In late 2006 it was acquired by Zurich-based Swiss Jet AG as HB-AEU, and immediately leased to Air Engiadina. Only recently the aircraft returned to Swiss Jet, and received their full titles and logo. HB-AEU was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing flight SJT162 from Naples-Capodichino.

JY-AYP A319 Royal Jordanian

A.319-132 c/n 3832 - LSZH 15 Aug 2009
When delivered in mid-March 2009, A.319 JY-AYP became the fourth example to join the Jordanian flag carrier, and the first aircraft to wear a oneworld alliance livery, to underline Royal Jordanian's membership in this alliance. JY-AYP was captured approaching runway 14, completing scheduled service RJA149 from Amman via Zurich to Geneva.

G-RJXH E145 British Midland Regional

Built in 2001, this EMB.145 was delivered to Aberdeen-based BMI subsidiary British Midland Regional in June 2001. Registered as G-RJXH, it was seen on finals to runway 14 on scheduled service BMA607 from Edinburgh-Turnhouse airport.

HB-IOX A319 Belair Airlines

Built for Air Berlin as D-ABGM in 2008, this A.319 was transferred to Belair Airlines as HB-IOX in March 2009. Still wearing full Air Berlin livery, it was seen approaching runway 14 on Air Berlin scheduled service BER8124 from Düsseldorf, also displaying a borrowed engine intake from an old-coloured-Air Berlin aircraft.

9A-CDD MD82 Dubrovnik Airline

9A-CDD is one of five MD-80 aircraft in service with Croatian charter carrier Dubrovnik Airline. Built for AirCal in 1982, the aircraft later flew with New York Air, Frontier Airlines, Continental and Lion Airlines before joining Dubrovnik in February 2006. 9A-CDD was captured arriving on runway 14 on charter service DBK226 from Split, thereby ending the seasonal charter series from this Croatian holiday resort.

HB-JED E135 Diamair SA

This early Legacy 600 was built in 2003, and delivered to Switzerland in October that year. It became HB-JED with Diamair SA, who operate the aircraft on behalf of Cressier, FR-based DiaMed GmbH. HB-JED is a regular albeit infrequent visitor to Zurich, and was captured on short finals to runway 14 on a flight from Cannes-Mandelieu.

VP-BUK A319 Aeroflot Russian Airlines

A.319-111 c/n 3281 - LSZH 15 Aug 2009
This A.319 made its maiden flight as D-AVYP in October 2007, and was delivered to the Russian flag carrier the same month. It is now one of some 15 in service, and was captured on short finals to runway 14 on the airline's daily scheduled service AFL265 from Moscow-Sheremetyevo.

PH-KZT F70 KLM CityHopper

PH-KZT is one of five former Régional Fokker 70 aircraft acquired by KLM subsidiary CityHopper in 2008/2009. Entering service in March 2009, it was captured approaching runway 14 on KLM scheduled service KLM1959 from Amsterdam-Schiphol. The aircraft was built in 1995 and flew with Air Littoral, Air France and Régional before joining KLM CityHopper.

CS-TNG A320 TAP Portugal

CS-TNG is one of 17 A.320s operated by TAP Portugal, and was built and delivered to the Portuguese flag carrier in 1999. CS-TNG was captured on short finals to runway 14, wearing the latest livery and completing scheduled service TAP916 from Porto.

HB-JLK FA7X Jet Link

Falcon 7X c/n 44 - LSZH 15 Aug 2009
This 2009-model Falcon 7X was built as F-WWVP, and delivered to Switzerland in July 2009. Registered as HB-JLK to BVI-based Radial Crest Ltd., it is being operated by Jet Link AG and is based at Zurich. HB-JLK was captured on finals to runway 14, returning after a flight from Lugano-Agno.

HB-VWN LJ60 Jetclub

Learjet 60 c/n 60-158 - LSZH 15 Aug 2009
This Learjet 60 was built in 1999 and flew in the USA before being acquired by Zurich-based Jetclub AG in March 2008, initially as N460JD. In August 2008 the aircraft was placed into the Swiss register as HB-VWN, and as such was seen on short finals to runway 14, completing a flight from Paphos, Cyprus.

A6-ECO B77W Emirates

B.777-36NER c/n 37706/765 - LSZH 15 Aug 2009
Emirates operate two daily flights between Dubai and Zurich. The midday service is being operated by B.777-300ER aircraft, such as A6-ECO, which was seen approaching runway 14 on flight UAE87 from Dubai-International airport. A6-ECO was built in 2009 and delivered in February that year. It is now one almost 80 777s of all models in service with Emirates, making it the largest operator of the type.

EC-ITN A321 Iberia

A total of 19 Airbus A.321 aircraft were delivered to Iberia between 1999 and 2007. EC-ITN was built in 2003 and joined the Spanish flag carrier in January 2004. Named 'Empuries' after an ancient Greek town on the Costa Brava, it was seen on short finals to runway 14 on seasonal service IBE4446 from Santiago de Compostela.

TC-IZH A319 Izmir Airlines

Originally built for Independence Air in 2005, A.319 TC-IZH is now one of three examples operated by Turkish carrier Izmir Airlines since April 2006, alongside two larger A.320 aircraft. Since a few days all Izair aircraft carry additional Pegasus Airlines logos on the engine nacelles and 'operated by Pegasus' inscriptions on the forward fuselage. TC-IZH was captured initiating a go-around after being too close to the preceeding, and 10 minutes later approaching runway 14 again on Pegasus Airlines scheduled service PGT395 from Istanbul-Sabiha Gökcen.

N545MA EA50 Mali Air

N545MA is one of the few Eclipse Jets flying in Europe. With no certification possible, all are being operated under US marks. N545MA was built in 2008 and delivered to Austria in April that year. It is now in service with Graz-based Mali Air, and was captured upon a rare visit, arriving on runway 14 after flight from its homebase.

N722TW B752 Delta Air Lines

B.757-231ER c/n 29385/893 - LSZH 15 Aug 2009
Built for Trans World Airlines as N722TW in 1999 and later also flying for American Airlines, this 757-200ER was one of 17 of the type acquired by Delta Air Lines between 2007 and 2008. N722TW joined the Atlanta-based carrier in December 2007, and was captured on short finals to runway 14, completing seasonal scheduled service DAL206 from New York-J.F. Kennedy airport.
